Even though it’s the 4th of July and my workplace hasn’t had power for the past two days, guess who’s on the job today?
This gal. Every year, I work an area parade in honor of the school and every year, it stresses me out. Wrangling boys after school is out is difficult. Emailing parents, working with vacation schedules, making sure the whole float is assembled, dropped off at its spot and makes it through the parade safely.
However, the stress caused by a parade is nothing compared to what the men and women in the armed forces go through to maintain our nation’s freedom. So while I’m celebrating today, I’m keeping them and their families in my thoughts.
Have a great and happy Independence Day, Americans!
