Tuesday night, after Christmas #3 with the JA’s immediate family, we caught up with some of the young alums who are home for the holidays. We met at Mission BBQ, and let me tell you, the food there is phenomenal. (Disclaimer: the restaurant is owned by a current school parent, but that in no way influences my tastebuds.) They have multiple choices for BBQ sauce and the mac n’ cheese – holy moley. Ridiculousness.
Anyway, back to the boys. It was great seeing all of them, hearing what’s going on in their lives and making sure that they’re all behaving as they should 😛
These boys are the first who came down to my office and made me feel welcome at school. For that, they hold a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to see how they mature and change throughout the coming years.
I wish them the best of luck in the remainder of their freshman year of college. Have fun, but, in the immortal words of BJK, “Remember boys, don’t do anything that would break your mothers’ hearts!”
P.S. – thank you, Gavin DeGraw for the song which this post is named (which has been playing nonstop on my iPod for the past few months), “Not Over You.”
