Even though I wasn’t feeling 100% yesterday (please don’t let this be the start of a cold, please don’t let this be the start of a cold…), I dragged my butt off the couch in time for my first Barre Fusion class.
Touted on my gym’s website, “Barre Fusion combines ballet inspired movements, interval training, Pilates, and isometric moves to strengthen and stretch your muscles from head to toe. The result is firm, elongated muscles, a strong re-defined core, increased flexibility and alignment, and reduced body fat.”
It was a bit different than I expected (more dancing than actual weight work). However, in speaking with the instructor after class, she assured me that this was not the norm for class. I also spoke to some other ‘classmates’ to get an idea of what other group exercise classes were worthwhile and which ones could be skipped.
As if that wasn’t enough, I came home and made a few goodies for Book Club tonight. It’s my first time hosting in a while and I’m super excited to have all the ladies over to see my new place!
