It’s a Tie

Being a former dancer, I always like to have the option of pulling my hair off my face. This means that if my hair isn’t up, I have a hair tie around my wrist. Some people see these small black elastics as a terrible eyesore that detracts from an outfit. Not a big deal from me for everyday in the office (heck, sometimes it’s hard for me to get out the door with matching socks), but I agree that if one’s dressing up for a night out on the town, these small black bands do detract from the overall look.

Not so anymore. Goody has developed ribbon elastics. Being an impulse buy at Target, I wasn’t expecting that these puppies would hold my thin hair in place.

Wrong. I wore one during Zumba yesterday (I owe you a post on that) and man, was I impressed. Not only did the band hold my hair, but when I took my hair down, I found less hairs tangled in the band that with my regular hair ties.

The one issue I have is the knot. I just don’t know where to put it! Since I work at a computer for the majority of the day, I’m very picky when it comes to wrist wear. If it bothers me while I’m typing, chances are that it doesn’t stay on more than the morning. Sad state of affairs, since there are some really cute bracelets out there. For now, the knot tends to lay to one side.

In short: Effective and cuter than your average hair tie. Two thumbs up!

This post is part of my Try It Tuesday series. I updated the page this weekend, so it should be a comprehensive list of products I’ve tried and recommend. Check it out!

    • Not a problem! Thought it was good fit 🙂 Kudos to you for posting your list. I keep one too but haven’t had the guts to put it on the blog just yet. It’s always refreshing to see an honest voice. Keep up the good work!
