It All Adds Up

Ever had those times in your life where it feels like a lot of little things add up to a bad day? That’s me this morning. A few things have been happening offline that are just bumming me out.

Remember that awesome summer trip I mentioned a few days ago? Not happening anymore.

The weather outside is getting nicer, but there’s still ice and snow to handle (as evidenced by my absolute failure of a morning run).

I went to bed last night feeling fine, but woke up this morning feeling extra mucousy. (I better not be getting sick!)

Watson has his first set of heart worm shots in two weeks, but the beast cannot be contained.

Although there’s nothing absolutely terrible listed above, they all add up to a ‘one of those days’ scenario. Yet, in my best effort to be an optimist, let’s list some good things to restore balance:

I went shoe shopping online yesterday and am pretty excited about my purchases. (Shop the sale here.)

It’s Thursday and the weekend is within reach.

I’ve been baking up a storm and the results have been scrumptious!

The weather is warming up and (fingers crossed) things will get better enough for me to complete my 5 mile training run outside this weekend. NO maneuvering around ice or falling this time.

I’m feeling better already!

  1. I’m feeling quite blah and overwhelmed at the moment too. Way to look on the bright side and yay for shopping! A warm weekend should do the trick in boosting your mood! And what did you bake-it looks SO yummy!

    • I don’t know what’s going on, but it needs to stop! Hoping the warmer weather will banish these bad moods. I made pumpkin chocolate chip bars from Recipe Girl. They were healthy enough to feel good, but bad enough to feel indulgent πŸ™‚

  2. Oh those days… they do suck for sure. But I find that it really does help to look at the bright side and practice gratitude for all the good things in your life — because we all have a tonne of those. And let’s be real — there’s nothing that chocolate, shopping, and baked goods can’t fix.

    • Thanks! The day is getting better as we progress through. You’re right – practicing gratitude certainly helps put life into perspective. Chocolate, shopping and baked goods don’t hurt πŸ™‚

  3. I did a similar titled post a while back … mine was regarding exercise (I do a lot of little sessions and steps all throughout the day and it adds up to a lot). Sorry your adding up was stressful stuff 😦 Some people would say “It could be worse” … but I don’t know that that EVER makes me feel better, then I just start stressing about the ways it COULD be worse. Hope you have a better day tomorrow πŸ™‚

  4. Those shoes are adorbs! I have trouble buying bright shoes because I’m terrible at matching my clothes. LOL I think I’m going to bake a few things I’ve had my eye on the last few weeks over the weekend – hopefully they turn out as well as yours have.

    • I’m fine with buying bright shoes, but patterns are my nemesis. I simply can’t justify shoes that I can’t wear with multiple things! Good luck with your baking; hopefully you’ll have some great recipes to share πŸ™‚
